We often discuss the negative usages of drones, but what about the good? During this session, the MIT global health drones team will discuss positive applications of drones in both the developing and developed worlds. The first half of the session will be focused on several organizations that use drones in unexpected ways to aid their communities.
In the latter half, the team will discuss their drone-based medical care delivery system, including what’s worked for them, what hardware solutions they’ve developed, and what challenges they’ve faced. From both global health and practical engineering viewpoints, they’ll discuss with the audience their development of a system that is cheap, accessible, and can provide solutions for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease that operate independently of infrastructural limitations.
