The insurance industry is still trying to get their arms round the commercial use of drones and how best to insure them. This workshop will cover: exposure issues, how insurance can protect you, specifically; Aircraft Products Liability (Bodily Injury, Property Damage), General Liability (Invasion of Privacy and aerial surveillance), Hull coverage, Workers Comp and Director’s and Officer’s Liability coverage (for those of you raising money from outside investors, as an example).
Topics will also include underwriting issues, how underwriters think so you can be mindful of what it will take to get your drone into public use. The kinds of questions that will be asked of you in order to obtain coverage and what they look for as a “good risk”, pilot experience (albeit unmanned), etc.
